Fastest Century In World Cup : South Africa's Aiden Markram has created history by scoring the fastest century in the ODI World Cup. He completed his century in just 49 balls. Earlier this record was held by Kevin O'Brien of Ireland, who scored a Century in 50 balls. Ireland's Kevin scored a Century in 50 balls against England in the 2011 World Cup. Whereas Markram accomplished the feat of scoring the fastest century of the ODI World Cup against Sri Lanka.
Markram returned to the pavilion after scoring 106 runs in 54 balls at a strike rate of 196.30. His innings included 14 fours and 3 sixes. He came out to bat at number four. Markram appeared aggressive from the beginning of the innings. The Sri Lankan bowlers looked completely helpless in front of him.
Former South African batsman AB de Villiers is also included in the list of batsmen who have scored the Fastest Century in the World Cup. In the 2015 World Cup, De Villiers completed his Century in 52 balls against West Indies. De Villiers was earlier at number three in this list, but has now come at number four.
