Axar Patel Ruled out of World Cup 2023 due to injury.
Making a late change to their ICC World Cup 2023 Squad, India welcomed off-spinner R Ashwin, who replaced injured Axar Patel in the 15-Man Squad.
Ashwin Joined The Team in Guwahati on Thursday, September 29, just in time for their opening warm-up match against defending champions England on September 30.
Ashwin was included in the Indian Squad for the recently concluded ODI series Against Australia, featuring in the opening two Matches in Mohali and Indore.
It was in the second ODI that the off-spinner showcased his bowling skills, taking 3 for 41 in Seven overs, which played a vital role in India's emphatic 99-run win.
Ashwin is no stranger to the ODI World Cup scenario, having played in it twice for India. He was part of the team that Won the 2011 edition in the subcontinent. He missed playing in the 2019 ODI World Cup in England, as India relied on the wrist spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja as well as Kuldeep Yadav.
